A Lovely Time Had By All

Seeing that Vero wasn’t going skydiving anymore on Wednesday, we took this advantage to head over to Lynn and Sue’s place as my cousin Shawn was in town from BC for a couple of weeks and I haven’t seen him (or Lynn and Sue!) for quite some time.

They have this amazing house which I love and I always drop the hints that I would love to purchase it one day.  This was the recurring theme throughout the night as they are well on their way of thinking of finally selling it within the next few years.  Only time will tell if I end up living in this house.  I kept pointing out the amazing things about it to Vero so I can convince her that this is a sweet pad.

Supper was great as we started out with some chicken wing appetizers and we had a few beer in the back deck while I caught up with all the news.  Shawn is enjoying his job out in Castlegar, BC but is wondering if the area is meant for him.  He is more of a city kind of guy.  That’s the problem with working in the radio industry…there’s just not that much selection around the nation.

Can I say I love visiting the Mullin-Sams?  They make me feel right at home.  I love chatting about all things with them…Shawn and I share a passion for music and movies and Lynn and Sue have this great old vinyl collection that I want to take a look at in the future.  For years I have kind of shyed away from going over to see them if my parents weren’t there.  Surprise, surprise, I am somewhat of a shy type sometimes.  But no more!  I realize that we love seeing each other and my next trip to see them will be their cottage that they have invited me to.  Then I have the opportunity to see that vinyl collection again!

We had an amazing supper in the backyard and finished off with some great cake and toured the house a little to show Vero what could be hers in the future.  She was very accomodating but at the same time, we know that until she obtains permanent employment of any sort, she is not in the position to be thinking of buying a house!  But it’s nice to dream a little.

Thanks to the Mullin-Sams for the great supper and we look forward to the next time.
