PayPal Reimbursement

Awhile ago I was ordering a few things off of Ebay and when one does so, sometimes you lose track of what you ordered.  Upon logging in for something else, I realized that I never received an item I won.  I went to contact the seller and Ebay said the user name no longer existed.  Uh oh!  I may have got scammed!

I looked into how I could report such an occurrence and the system they have is pretty swell. Ebay themselves has a process outlined and at one point in the process they see that you paid via PayPal (which is an online transaction system) so they suggest to file a complaint to them.

Within a week, I received a response that my complaint was received and they agreed that I should be reimbursed the cash, and voila, it’s as simple as that.  I sure hope that others have had similar good experiences of this nature but I’m sure that’s not the case all the time.

I think i remember going through the policies on PayPal for these situations. And their standard practise is that you give the money to PayPal, then PayPal informs the other party that your payment was received. The money is not actually transfered to the other party until PayPal is satisfied that the transaction is deemed completed by both parties.
