Thoughts on Toronto, from an Ottawan

With the knowledge of working in Toronto for a few days, I am excited to experience life in a ‘normal’ manner, rather than how it usually is when there is a grand event happening in Toronto.  Here’s some thoughts so far on Toronto from a guy who’s lived up North and in Ottawa:

  • Walking around at lunch at Yonge and Sheppard, I can definitely taste something in the air…and it wasn’t excitement for tonight’s concert.  It was more like fumes.
  • The subway seemed fun to ride.  It’s quite warm which could be great in the winter, instead of freezing on the OC Transpo.  However, I bet it gets QUITE warm in the winter considering you have all your winter clothing on.  It is a quick system though and I look forward to some form of transit like that in Ottawa’s future.
  • If you had any inkling of trying ANY different in life, Toronto is your place.  You can probably find Alaskan food here somewhere.
