I went to Broadways with Eric, Annie, Philippe and Mike. I’ve been to Broadways for breakfast/lunch before, but never for dinner so didn’t really know what to expect. I can’t say we were overly impressed. Lack of staff equals lack of satisfaction. Sure, my philly cheese steak was as good as I remembered it, but it took us an hour to get it. Also, Eric’s fish and chips looked like two pieces of Highliner fish sticks. In the end, we won’t be going back there anytime soon for good service. We even saw a table get up and leave because of the lack of service. This also happened to us at the Barley Mow Pub the last time we went out for a bite to eat.
What we need to start doing is going to the smaller diners which don’t have the generic menu items which somehow always comes out to $20. We need to find places that offer a great meal for low prices and good service. My mind wanders back to Salem Massachusetts where I got chicken parmesan for $4. Mike just spent $15 on chicken parm last night at this pub. What the heck?
Mike and I headed home so we could clean up the house before the people coming over tomorrow. The place is spic and span.
I also dropped into Rob and Janice’s to return the long borrowed video camera from Rob. It was nice to see them and Jenna is doing fine also (well, if you can actually say a screaming baby is doing fine!). We were talking about Scouts Canada and joining Beavers. I was part of Scouts Canada and I had a great time whereas Rob believes only the geeks attended Scouts. While that may be true back up in his hometown, I had a great time (other than camping. I just didn’t like hanging with those kids from Iroquois Falls.) and all I remember is tying knots and earning badges. Awww yeah!
Before I forget, here’s a shout out to my Aunt Lois who turns fifty tomorrow (or, at least her party is tomorrow!) and I hope she has a good one. I was pretty surprised to hear she is fifty as she definitely doesn’t look that old.

As a fellow Beaver, Cub, and Scout; I am all for it. It was a great learning experience as a young child. Being apart of Scouts taught me a lot life lessons that are missed in normal public education.
PS – I was/am a geek.
I love those Mom and Pop places! Danielle and I stopped at the Kempville restaurant, South side of county rd 44, for some hot chiken plates and for $8 it was a great, huge plate of food to boot. $27 total for two plates two drinks and an apple pie. There is a place North of the 401 at the Landsdown exit same thing. The Husky truck stop at Joyceville near Kingston has all you can eat spaghetti. The Golden Roster on Princess Street in Kingston. Working at the Coast Guard has allowed me to find many of these palces on my travels!
oh yes I’ll agree with Rob. I was kicked out of beavers!
What are you sucking up for now? More comics? hahahaha
Happy Birthday Lois! Sorry we couldn’t make it! Hope you had a wonderful day!
P.S. I was a Beaver as well, and had a blast! (and I’m not a geek! Although my boyfriend is…uhm, on second thought….)
[…] Not bad, not bad at all. Actually, now that I think of it, I’m surprised that I went to Broadways after the horrible service and food we had the time before also! Was I looking for punishment this […]
