On Friday after surviving a day at work with a headache, I headed back to Vero’s apartment where another Christmas party was going to happen that night. I had a nap before the thing started up and perused the munchies strewn about. I did also end up finding National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation in French on the TV so I put that on and had a good chuckle.
Vero’s friends started strolling in sometime after 8PM. It was nice to see Simon and Vero, Marie-Claude and J-F again. I also got to meet John who just got engaged to Chantelle the night before. That was quite the exciting event for the ladies as their screams were heard throughout the night.
We settled in around Christmas Vacation, had a few drinks and had some excellent food. Mike ended up showing up for the festivities as well which was highly convenient for me as I had forgotten my gift for the gift exchange at home! There was also a mystery gift waiting outside on the deck so we all wondered what needed to be refrigerated.
The gift exchange started and the first gift to be opened was the one from the outside deck which was from J-F. Keep in mind at this point that the ‘theme’ of the gift exchange were sex themed. So the first gift ended up being a box of oysters! I had a good laugh at this! The rest of the gifts were run-of-the-mill items although I must admit that mine was quite original. I will speak of this gift after Christmas as I picked up a few for other friends and family to have a good laugh.
The rest of the night was spent chatting and at one point the gentlemen went to Vero’s room to watch some great YouTube videos from the likes of Lonely Island, Katt Williams, Dave Chappelle and others. It was quite hilarious and I must admit I don’t visit Youtube that often but it has everything you ever wanted. I also like how they offer an HD feed nowadays. This is stellar for people like me with wide screen monitors. Now you won’t get the grainy videos from YouTube anymore if someone has uploaded them into HD.
After a few people left, I was entertained by some of the girls dancing to the likes of Backstreet Boys and singing Celine Dion, while J-F and I answered trivia about movies and he showed me how to play Space Oddity by David Bowie on the guitar.
A great party had by all and I thank Vero and Mel for organizing such a spectacular bash.
